Machynlleth Wind Band meets every Tuesday evening in term time between 7.30 and 9.30 p.m in the Tabernacl, Penrallt Street, Machynlleth, Powys There is a fee of £20 per term for adults and £11 for young people in full time education which goes towards the band’s running costs. Machynlleth Win Band are always happy to welcome new members and have instruments available for those who play but don’t currently have their own instrument. Machynlleth Wind band have an active entertainment programme which includes performances as diverse as accompanying Church hymn singing in the open air, carolling round Machynlleth at Christmas, and playing as part of the summer entertainment programme in the Bandstand in Aberystwyth, as well as concerts in the Tabernacl.

Wirral Pipe band are primarily a community band but are also registered for competition with the NW England Branch of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and participate in their local Branch contests. Their aims are to provide sound instruction in the art of piping and drumming, to encourage pipers and drummers of all levels to play to the best of their ability, and also to enjoy playing together in an atmosphere of harmony.
Chester Wind Band have been delighted to welcome the Wirral Pipe Band to our performances and were asked back to our recent Last Night of The Proms concerts by popular demand of our previous audiences.
