In Alexander’s in Rufus court a monthly Jazz jamming session is held on the last Wednesday of each month. Hosted by Louis Noble and the quartet “So What”, it is an interesting evening in which you can participate. Each month there is normally a collection of brass and wind instruments, together with singers and guitarists.
Turn up at 8pm ish, and enjoy Bangers and Mash for £3.95, and get in for free (entry normally £3.00)! Music starts after nine.

Following the AGM, there have been two changes to the Committee. Jackie takes over from Gill as treasurer, and June, Norman and Karen take over from Lynsey as Librarians.
I am sure you will all join me in thanking Gill and Lynsey for their service to the band, and in welcoming Jackie, June and Norman into their new roles.
The Royal Northern College of Music is running a Saxophone day on the 15/10. The day starts with a massed saxophone orchestra, and then has several workshops interspersed with concerts and a master class with Vincent David. Every year the Chester Wind Band support the Tree of Light at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The event is on the 4/12 at 17:00.

Members of the Chester Wind Band will be supporting the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Hawarden from 10:30 on 8/10/09.
The annual Last Night of the Proms concert on 31/10/09 was a great success. The audience enjoyed themselves, getting into the spirit of the traditional LNOP program.
The takings are being counted and the accounts completed - expect an announcement soon about the funds raised for Claire House.
